Frequently asked questions

Straight answers to the questions UAE healthcare professionals ask most before and after they enrol, including what our courses can and cannot do for your licence or for an open complaint.

Choosing a course

I am not sure which course I need. How do I decide?

Start from your reason. For general development, take the ethics and professionalism course for your profession. To strengthen one duty, such as consent, records or prescribing, choose that topic course. If a complaint or investigation prompted you, choose by the concern raised; the remediation guide matches concerns to courses for each authority.

Is there a course written specifically for my profession?

Yes, for the main groups: separate ethics and professionalism courses for physicians, dentists, nurses and midwives, pharmacists and allied health professionals, with cases from that profession's practice. Topic courses are tagged by profession, so the profession filter in the catalogue shows only the courses written for your group.

Can I enrol before I hold a UAE licence?

Yes. Enrolment does not depend on holding a licence, and some professionals study UAE law and the authority codes while their licensing is in progress. The courses are not part of the licensing process itself; qualification, verification and assessment requirements are set by the authorities and the Unified Healthcare Professional Qualification Requirements.

Can a clinic or hospital buy courses for its staff?

Yes. Use the contact form, choose "Group or clinic purchase" and tell us which courses and how many staff. We reply by email with the options. Each learner studies in their own account, because every certificate is issued in the learner's own name with its own number.

Studying online

How much time should I set aside for a 2-hour course?

Plan for about two hours, split into as many sessions as suit you. Each lesson has a minimum reading time based on its length, and you need to reach the end of a lesson before the next one opens. The learning record in your course pack shows the time you actually spent.

What are the knowledge checks and the final assessment like?

Each section ends with a short knowledge check, and every answer comes with an explanation. The final assessment in most courses has 20 scenario questions: short UAE situations in which you choose the best action. You need 80%, or 16 out of 20, to pass.

What happens if I do not reach 80% in the final assessment?

You see which areas to review, and you can retake the assessment after a five-minute wait, as many times as you need. The answer options are reshuffled on each attempt. Once you pass, your score is recorded, and if you pass again later the higher score is kept.

Can I listen to the lessons or make the text larger?

Yes. Each lesson has a Listen button that reads it aloud, and a control to enlarge the text. The courses run in any modern web browser, so you can also switch to a larger screen if reading on a phone is tiring.

Certificates, CPD and licence renewal

Can I upload my certificate as CPD in Sheryan or TAMM?

That is for your licensing authority to decide, not us. The DHA records CPD through the Sheryan service "Update CPD Points", and DOH licences are renewed through TAMM. Our courses are not accredited by any UAE authority and carry no CPD points or credits, so check with your authority first. The DHA Manual warns that claiming fraudulent CPD leads to disciplinary action.

Why are your courses not accredited for CME?

Accreditation comes from an authority or a body it recognises, for example the DHA CPD Accreditation service, or an accreditor on the DOH's recognised list such as ACCME or ANCC. Healthcare Practise holds none of these accreditations, so we describe our courses as independent learning and state learning hours rather than CME.

Does a certificate expire?

The certificate has no expiry date; it records that you completed the course on a stated date. Authorities look at when learning took place: the DOH counts CME obtained within the two years since your last renewal or first licence, and the DHA does not carry CPD forward into the next licence period.

My certificate is lost or shows the wrong name. What can I do?

Contact us through the contact form, choosing "Certificate or verification", and give the email on your account and the certificate number if you have it. Each course certificate can be downloaded once, so we issue replacement copies by hand. Correcting the name on your account first prevents the problem.

Complaints, investigations and confidentiality

Will completing a course close a complaint or investigation?

No. A course cannot close, decide or shorten a complaint, a Medical Liability Committee review or a disciplinary process, and we cannot predict any outcome. It can help you understand the standard involved and prepare an honest reflection on what you would do differently. Take advice from your medical liability insurer or a lawyer on how to respond.

A committee has ordered me to complete training. Will your course satisfy the order?

Only if the authority that ordered it agrees. In Dubai, for example, Executive Council Resolution No. 49 of 2024 lets the DHA require specific training courses within a set time, supervised practice and reassessment, and the order defines what is acceptable. Ask the authority in writing before relying on an independent course, and involve your insurer or lawyer.

Who can see that I bought a remediation course?

Only you and the staff who run your account and orders. We do not report enrolments, course titles or scores to employers, licensing authorities or anyone else. A certificate's details are visible only to people you give its number to. Personal data is handled under our privacy policy, in line with Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021.

Payments and refunds

Which currency do I pay in, and is there a subscription?

Prices are in UAE dirhams: AED 349, 449 or 549 per course, depending on its length in learning hours. You pay once per course at checkout. There is no subscription and no renewal fee, and you can put several courses in the basket and pay for them together.

Can I get a refund?

Refunds follow our refund policy, which sets out when a refund is available and how to request one. To ask, use the contact form, choose "Invoice, VAT or refund" and give your order email. If an order is refunded, access to the courses in that order ends.
