Every course is self-paced, written in English to UAE federal law and the standards of the licensing authorities, and ends with a scenario-based assessment and a verifiable certificate.

Records, prescribing and patient safety 5

Three ways to find the right course

The catalogue is grouped into five themes. Most professionals choose in one of three ways:

  1. By profession. Start with the ethics and professionalism course written for your own profession, then add topic courses. The nurses and midwives, pharmacists and allied health filters show only the courses tagged for that group.
  2. By duty or concern. If you want to strengthen one area of practice, such as consent, records, prescribing or boundaries, use the topic filters: consent, privacy and communication, records, prescribing and patient safety or law, liability and conduct.
  3. By time available. Twenty courses take about two learning hours, ten take about three, and the core course on complaints and investigations takes about four. Use the 2-hour filter if you are studying around shifts.

Where each profession usually starts

Online CME in the UAE: what to check before you buy any course

Each authority decides what counts towards renewal, and accreditation usually decides it. Three examples from current official documents:

  • Dubai: the DHA Manual for Licensing Healthcare Professionals (2025) allows the whole CPD target to be met online if the programmes relate to your specialty, while the DHA Code of Ethics refers to accredited CPD.
  • Abu Dhabi: the DOH Standard for Continuing Professional Development (2024) accepts e-learning but requires at least half of each cycle's credits to come from formal, accredited activities.
  • Dubai Healthcare City: the DHCR CPD Standard limits online courses and journal reading to 50% of the requirement, and DHCR may accept or reject any activity's points.

Our courses are not accredited by any UAE authority and do not award CME or CPD credits. Your certificate states approximately how many hours of assessed learning you completed, which you can keep as self-directed learning in your portfolio. Whether it counts for renewal is for your licensing authority to decide. The CPD requirements guide sets out each authority's figures.

If you are choosing because of a complaint

When a complaint, an investigation or a request for training is the reason you are here, choose by the concern that was raised rather than by profession. The core course for professionals facing a complaint, investigation or disciplinary action covers ethics, professionalism, insight and reflection in one 4-hour course; the complaints and remediation group has shorter courses on insight, reflective statements, remediation planning and rebuilding trust. A course does not replace advice from your medical liability insurer or a lawyer.

Choosing a course: questions

How many courses are in the UAE catalogue?

There are 31 courses in five groups: ethics and professionalism by profession; law, liability and conduct; consent, privacy and communication; records, prescribing and patient safety; and complaints, investigations and remediation. Each course page lists the UAE laws and authority standards it covers and the professions it was written for.

Can I take more than one course at the same time?

Yes. Add as many courses to your basket as you need and pay once at checkout. Each course is then available in your account, and you can study them in any order. Each one has its own final assessment and its own certificate with a separate certificate number.

Do the courses use real UAE laws or general international principles?

UAE law and UAE standards. Lessons cite the federal laws, cabinet resolutions and authority documents by name and year, for example Federal Decree-Law No. 4 of 2016 on Medical Liability and the DHA Standards for Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct. Where authorities differ, the lesson says so and tells you to follow your own.
